Since her little brother Tim drowned in the sea in Trieste, Paula’s will to live has been extinguished. But when she meets old Helmut, who is travelling to South Tyrol with his ex-wife’s stolen urn, she finally knows what she wants: to go to Trieste, to the beach where her brother died. She thinks this is the only place where she might finally feel close to him again. And if she kills herself there, she will also no longer be dragged down by her heavy-as-cement feelings of guilt. During the journey, she develops an unexpected friendship with Helmut, and when she finally learns of his illness, Paula is no longer sure whether her destination is Trieste after all.
Based on the German bestseller novel by Jasmin Schreiber
